Submit Your New MAA Logo
We're going for a new look and we need your help!
You are invited to use your creativity and submit a new logo for consideration.
As most of you know, MAA is a new fellowship – we turn six this year! And along with all the growing pains as a new fellowship, we have also been searching to find our identity. What is MAA? How is it different from other 12-step fellowships? What do we want the newcomer to know about us? In other words, we need a logo!
Most organizations have a logo, and the best logos illustrate what the group is and the values they hold. Think about any logo from soft drinks to computers to other 12-step groups. These logos were carefully conceived to represent the organization as a whole. And the best logos are instantly recognizable and memorable.
As members of the MAA Logo Task Force, we have been thinking about what that logo could look like. We want a logo that shares the values and ideals of MAA. We want a logo that represents MAA in 2026 but that can also stand the test of time. We want a logo that is warm and inviting to the newcomer.
We understand this is a tall order, and frankly, we need your help. Do you have an idea for a logo that you think represents MAA? Is there a logo design you can envision on our website or printed in our literature? We want your ideas! Please consider submitting a logo or two to help MAA find the perfect logo!
Instructions
1. Brainstorm
What three words describe what MAA means to you? Some examples: freedom, recovery, nature, safety, connection, fun, friendship. How can you represent these words in an image?
2. Design
Come up with a design that represents how you see MAA. The logo should meet the following criteria:
Simple - uncomplicated, timeless design.
Easily identifiable - unique and representative of MAA.
Natural/human - show nature or humanity. We would prefer that technology not be incorporated into the logo design.
Caring/stable - appeal to the newcomer and show MAA as a welcoming and solid place to land.
Flexible - The logo should work well alone and/or with the letters “MAA” and/or with the words, “Media Addicts Anonymous.” It should also work with a variety of background colors and be usable at different sizes (from a very tiny display on a phone to a billboard).
You are welcome to submit as many logos as you would like, but please submit each logo in a separate form.
With your help, we truly hope to capture the perfect logo that MAA can be proud of and that represents our fellowship both now and in the future.
